A note before you read this

These Terms of Service are written in plain English. The Rough Draft Room is built on trust and transparency — that applies to the legal stuff too. Please read this before booking a conversation. If you have any questions, email hello@roughdraftroom.com.

By booking a conversation through roughdraftroom.com, you agree to these terms.

1. What The Rough Draft Room is

The Rough Draft Room LLC provides private, one-on-one live conversation sessions ("conversations") between clients and Poppy, the sole operator of The Rough Draft Room.

The Rough Draft Room is a private conversation service. It is not therapy, counseling, psychotherapy, life coaching, or any form of licensed mental health treatment. Poppy is not a licensed therapist, psychologist, social worker, counselor, or mental health professional of any kind.

Nothing said during a Rough Draft Room conversation constitutes medical, psychological, legal, financial, or professional advice of any kind. You are solely responsible for any decisions you make as a result of your conversation.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, thoughts of suicide or self-harm, or any situation requiring immediate professional intervention, please contact a licensed professional or call the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline immediately.

2. Eligibility

By booking a conversation, you confirm that:

  • You are 18 years of age or older

  • You are booking for yourself, not on behalf of another person

  • You have read and understood these Terms of Service

  • You understand that The Rough Draft Room is not a mental health or crisis service

  • You are entering into this agreement voluntarily

The Rough Draft Room reserves the right to refuse service to anyone at any time for any reason.

3. Booking and payment

Conversations are booked through our scheduling system (Calendly) and payment is processed securely through Stripe at the time of booking. Conversations are confirmed only upon receipt of full payment.

Pricing:

  • One conversation: $50

  • Three conversations: $135

  • Five conversations: $215

Package conversations (three or five) are valid for 90 days from the date of purchase. Unused conversations that expire after 90 days are forfeited and are not eligible for refund.

All prices are listed in US dollars. The Rough Draft Room reserves the right to change pricing at any time. Price changes will not affect bookings already confirmed.

4. Cancellation and rescheduling — by you

You may cancel or reschedule your conversation up to 24 hours before your scheduled start time at no charge. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice are non-refundable.

To cancel or reschedule, use the link provided in your booking confirmation email or contact hello@roughdraftroom.com.

Refunds for eligible cancellations will be returned to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.

5. Cancellation by The Rough Draft Room

The Rough Draft Room reserves the right to cancel any conversation at any time, for any reason, with a full refund.

This includes but is not limited to situations where:

  • A client's behavior before or during a conversation is inappropriate, threatening, harassing, or makes Poppy uncomfortable in any way

  • A client misrepresents the nature of their booking

  • A client attempts to use the service for purposes inconsistent with these Terms

  • Technical issues prevent the conversation from taking place

  • Circumstances arise that make it impossible or inadvisable to proceed

In the event of a cancellation by The Rough Draft Room, you will receive a full refund to your original payment method within 5–10 business days. No further explanation is required.

6. Conduct

By booking a conversation, you agree to conduct yourself respectfully and appropriately at all times.

The following are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination of the conversation and potential permanent ban from the service, with no refund:

  • Sexual comments, requests, or behavior of any kind

  • Threatening, abusive, or harassing language or behavior

  • Attempts to solicit personal information about Poppy 

  • Attempts to locate, identify, or contact Poppy outside of the Rough Draft Room platform

  • Recording the conversation by any means without explicit written consent

  • Sharing, publishing, or distributing any part of a conversation without explicit written consent

  • Using the service for any illegal purpose

The Rough Draft Room is a professional service. Clients who violate these terms will be permanently banned with no refund.

7. Privacy and confidentiality

The Rough Draft Room takes your privacy seriously. Please review our full Privacy Policy at roughdraftroom.com/privacy for complete details.

In summary:

  • Your conversations are never recorded by The Rough Draft Room

  • Your personal information is never sold or shared beyond what is necessary to operate the service

  • Your booking information is retained for 12 months for business record-keeping, then deleted

While Poppy will not record or share the content of your conversations, please note that confidentiality is not legally protected in the same way it would be with a licensed therapist or attorney. The Rough Draft Room is not subject to HIPAA or other professional confidentiality laws.

8. Technical issues

Conversations take place via Zoom. You are responsible for ensuring you have a stable internet connection and a functioning device before your scheduled conversation time.

If a technical issue on your end prevents the conversation from taking place and you do not contact us within 15 minutes of your scheduled start time, the conversation will be considered a no-show and is non-refundable.

If a technical issue on our end prevents the conversation from taking place, you will be offered a full reschedule or full refund at your choice.

9. Intellectual property

All content on roughdraftroom.com — including text, design, images, and branding — is the property of The Rough Draft Room LLC and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used without express written permission.

10. Limitation of liability

The Rough Draft Room LLC and Poppy are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this service, including but not limited to decisions made as a result of a conversation.

You use this service voluntarily and at your own discretion. The maximum liability of The Rough Draft Room LLC to any client is limited to the amount paid for the specific conversation in question.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Rough Draft Room LLC, its owner, and any associated parties from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service or your violation of these Terms of Service.

12. Governing law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Spokane County, Washington.

13. Changes to these terms

The Rough Draft Room reserves the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
